Disability Inclusive Development

Welcome to the ADG Disability Inclusive Development Sector.

There are over 400 million people with disabilities in the Asia Pacific region (UNESCAP). Globally, at least 10% of people live with a disability on a daily basis, and this percentage is set to increase due to a combination of poverty, conflict, malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, natural disasters and an ageing population. People with disabilities consistently face barriers to education, exclusion from the workforce and most often don't have access to the basic aids and equipment which allow them independence.
