Data collection on the lives of people with disabilities in developing countries has been a vastly under-researched field. As there is no universal definition of disability, it is difficult to make cross- cultural comparisons. However, new tools and innovative methodologies for data collection are emerging which have been field-tested for cross cultural reliability. Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are also constantly being refined so as to ensure we are able to measure the progress being made.
The links below lead to more information on how to assess the quality of data, methodologies for collecting qualitative and quantitative data and helpful tools for monitoring and evaluation.
