This is a very practical resource manual written by a disability organisation in South Africa. It is a guide to anyone who wants to provide education and information on HIV and Disability, containing useful information and including relevant HIV prevention and management information.

This report presents the findings of a study undertaken in Mozambique to asses the scale of HIV in people with disabilities, their levels of awareness regarding HIV & AIDS and what is being done about it. It provides recommendations for government, the policy makers and development organisations.

This resource, developed by VSO International, provides many examples of disability inclusive HIV/AIDS programmes and policies from around the world. This document provides guidance, through the many detailed case studies, for people aiming to make their HIV/AIDS programme or policies disability inclusive.

These actions were defined in consultation with a broad range of stakeholders including people living with HIV and persons with disabilities. They are in line with the commitments made by States to ensure universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support by 2010, the Millennium Development Goal of halting and beginning to reverse the spread of HIV by 2015 and the principles and standards of international human rights law, in particular the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

This article is based on results drawn from the World Bank/Yale Global Survey on HIV/AIDS and Disability which assessed the impact of the AIDS epidemic on disabled populations, and received over 1000 responses from 57 countries.

The Global Survey on HIV/AIDS and Disability project was intended to identify, foster and disseminate research, policies and programmatic interventions on the impact of HIV/AIDS on people with disabilities. This rapid assessment report assessed the vulnerability, impact and coping mechanisms of disabled people on HIV&AIDS and suggested strategies for developing a HIV and AIDS program for Disabled people's organisations (DPOs) in Zimbabwe.
