Canadian International Development Agencies (CIDA’s) gender equality toolkit draws attention to the humanitarian needs of countries in conflict.

Sexual and gender-based violence has been a serious problem in many of these conflicts, and the victims are often women and children. The toolkit highlights the importance of bringing a gender perspective more directly into humanitarian assistance work. The toolkit is intended to provide CIDA and humanitarian assistance workers with a greater knowledge of gender perspectives in the field so they can make a difference for those who are most vulnerable.
