A database of disability policy in Asia and the Pacific:

Some 400 million people with disabilities live in the Asia and Pacific region. The majority of them are excluded from many social opportunities. To assist governments and self-help organizations in creating an inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based society for people with disabilities, ESCAP promotes the development of disability policy and legislation within the region. Disability Central is a dynamic database designed to support knowledge-building on disability policy in Asia and the Pacific. It provides a comprehensive gateway to detailed information on disability statistics, definition, legislation, policies and practices for policy makers, researchers, persons with disabilities and other stakeholders. The summarized version of the database is available at Disability at a Glance which is periodically published by ESCAP.
