[Folder] Q&A Interview with AusAID's Disability Inclusive Development (DID) Team: week of 29 November 2010

AusAID DID Team

During the week of 29 November, the AusAID Disability Inclusive Development (DID) Team will answer your questions in an interview-style Q&A session on AusAID's approaches and progress towards DID, in the lead up to International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December).

The Australian Government is providing $30.2 million over four years, beginning 2010-2011, to implement the disability-specific measures in the Government's strategy 'Development for All'. The strategy aims to change the way that Australian international development assistance is designed and delivered to ensure that persons with disabilities are included throughout and benefit equally with others. Ensuring that development reaches, includes and benefits persons with disabilities is an important step in global efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Persons with disabilities are the world’s largest and most disadvantaged minority comprising at least 20 per cent of the poorest in developing countries.
