You (the "User") should carefully assess any information obtained through the Australian Development Gateway (ADG) before applying it to your situation. The advice you find here is freely offered in good faith, but no legal liability can be accepted by the Commonwealth of Australia or by the Australian Development Gateway, its operators, content partners or contributors.
Online submission of information
Persons working in aid and development in the Asia Pacific region, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age, are encouraged to submit information on the ADG.
By registering or submitting information, you agree that:
- You are entitled by the original owner / author to forward the information provided, or have confirmed that it is freely available as described on the original owners/authors website.
- The information that you include as part of the submission process is accurate, complete, and not misleading.
- You will ensure that your information submitted to "tenders and opportunities" and "people and organisations" databases remains updated.
- You will be aware that your information, including contact informations as provided by you, and submitted to "tenders and opportunities" and "people and organisations" databases will be publicly available on the world-wide-web, including search engines.
- If submitting or suggesting a resource, you have obtained permission/approval from the original copyright holder to do so and you have submitted the copyright holder's details.
- You will not distribute unsolicited commercial messages ("spam") through ADG's facilities or take any other action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.
Your Privacy
By submitting your information to the ADG database, you are making your information accessible to the World Wide Web. To ensure that your entered email address cannot be picked up by spam engines, your email address is not published to the live site but incorporated into a form. Others can fill out the form to contact you, which is submitted to your email address. The ADG does not collect any information on correspondence between you and other ADG users via the ADG site.
Information collected by us, for example through the use of an online form, will only:
- be collected by lawful and fair means
- be used for a lawful purpose
- be collected with your consent, and
- the purpose for collection should be clear and explicit.
When you e-mail us:
- we will record your e-mail address
- we will only use your e-mail address for the purpose for which you provided it
- we will occasionally use your e-mail address to communicate ADG related updates and newsletters
- we will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose
- we will not disclose it without your consent.
Acknowledgement
The material published on this website has come from many sources, and we thank the original authors for freely sharing their knowledge and skills. Wherever possible we have acknowledged original sources. Please let us know if there is an error that we can correct, and we will do so straight away. If we have mistakenly published something that is confidential or copyright material, please tell us immediately and we will remove it.
Approval process
Content submitted to the ADG by users is subject to prior review by editors who determine its suitability. Any content offered to the site may be rejected by editors if, in the editor's opinion, it advocates violence, contains profanity, is inflammatory in nature, is not relevant to the subject of that section of the site, or is otherwise inappropriate.
Fees
No fees or charges are payable for your entry in the ADG databases.
Participating in the online discussion forums
The User agrees to use the Forums only to send and receive messages and material that are proper and related to the particular Forum. By way of example, and not as a limitation, User agrees that when using a Forum, User shall not do any of the following:
- Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.
- Publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful material or information.
- Upload or attach files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy of publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.
- Upload or attach files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer.
- Delete any author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any file that is uploaded.
- Falsify the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
- Advertise or offer to sell any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests, or chain letters.
- Download any file posted by another user of a Forum that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
User acknowledges that all Forums or Discussion Groups are public and not private communications. Information submitted to the ADG by users is subject to prior review by editors who determine its suitability. Any content offered to the site may be rejected by editors if, in the editor's opinion, it advocates violence, contains profanity, is inflammatory in nature, is not relevant to the subject of that section of the site, or is otherwise inappropriate. Further, User acknowledges that direct chats, e-mails and other communications by other users are not endorsed by the Australian Development Gateway, and such communications shall not be considered reviewed, screened, or approved by the Australian Development Gateway.
The Australian Development Gateway reserves the right to remove without notice any contents received from users, including postings to mailing lists and discussion forums.
Contributed Content
We do not claim ownership of content you submit or make available ("Contributed Content") for inclusion in the Development Gateway services and Forums. However, with respect to original Contributed Content for inclusion in the Development Gateway Portal, its services and Forums, you grant the Australian Development Gateway a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, distribute, reproduce, make derivative works, edit, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display such Contributed Content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate such Contributed Content into other works in any format or medium now known or later developed. If you contribute content that does not constitute your original work of authorship as defined under applicable Copyright Law, but a third party holds the copyright and other proprietary rights to such content, you represent and warrant to the Australian Development Gateway that you do not infringe on any third party's copyright or other proprietary rights and that you have secured all necessary permissions and licenses prior to contributing such content to the Australian Development Gateway, its services and Forums.
Public Forums
User acknowledges that all Forums are public and not private communications. Further, User acknowledges that chats, postings, conferences, e-mails and other communications by other users are not endorsed by the Australian Development Gateway and such communications shall not be considered reviewed, screened, or approved by the Australian Development Gateway. The Australian Development Gateway reserves the right for any reason to remove without notice any Contributed Content from the Forums.
Copyright Notice
If you believe in good faith that your copyrighted work has been reproduced on the Australian Development Gateway including the portals' services or Forums, without authorization in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please proceed as outlined in our Copyright Notice.
