Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Australia's Recognition of Mandela's 90 Years

  • For Australia to pay tribute to this great global icon of our time Nelson Mandela on his 90th birthday - in recognising this great man and all he has offered humanity regarding truth and reconciliation, resilience and the triumph of the human spirit over extreme adversity.

    A birthday dinner will be held, to assist in supporting Mandela's dream of eradicating poverty via the distribution and donation of all net proceeds to designated Mandela charity MaAfrika Tikkun and its specific project in South Africa to develop an Early Childhood Development Centre/ Youth Development Centre/ Palliative Care and Admin Centre.

APERA 2008 Conference: Educational research for innovation & quality in education

  • This conference aims to facilitate sharing of knowledge by education researchers and practitioners across the world on the subject of innovation and quality in education.

    Topics to be explored include:
    - Standards of education research
    - Impact of educational research on policies
    - Capacity building for educational research particularly in developing nations

    The closing date for submission of abstracts is 30 April 2008.
