Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Making Links

  • Date: 11 - 13 November 2008
  • Venue: Melbourne University, Australia

  • In 2008, Making Links focuses on how technology can enhance and support social inclusion. The conference will also include practical skills-building sessions and networking opportunities for workers and volunteers in community organisations who work with and/or are interested in web development, multimedia, Web 2.0 and mobile technology.

    It will look at the following themes:
    - Community
    - Responsibility
    - Sustainability

    Also included will be a short bus tour of ICT projects in Melbourne, and a mini film festival to showcase film and multimedia works in keeping with this year's theme of social inclusion. Both events will take place on November 11th.
