Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

CSIRO's work touches every aspect of Australian life from the molecules of life to installing farm drainage systems - finding ways to improve quality of life and economic performance. It is the aim of CSIRO to apply what we have learned for the benefit of the global community.

CSIRO Global Aid brings multi-disciplinary expertise to bear on problems of global concern. CSIRO is committed to applying technology for sustainable quality of life, is focused on providing high impact solutions to problems of global concern. CSIRO partners with aid agencies and philanthropy internationally and within Australia.

CSIRO has delivered more than 250 Global Aid projects in over 60 countries around the world, with collaborations involving 40 research institutions, foundations and aid agencies. The projects range from water to land mine detection, forestry to systems implementation.

CSIRO's web site provides a searchable database for these projects and describes our work with agencies such as AusAID, ACIAR, Global Research Alliance and the Challenge Program on Water and Food.
