Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Commonwealth Ombudsman

Commonwealth Ombudsman logo The Commonwealth Ombudsman's office investigates complaints about the administrative actions of Australian Government agencies and works to foster good public administration.

The Ombudsman is committed to promoting principles of good governance and public administration in ensuring that government is open, transparent, accountable, equitable and responsive to people's needs.

Our work with other Ombudsman offices, particularly those in the Asia-Pacific, has provided insights into the challenges and cultural sensitivities involved in assisting to identify and remedy organisational challenges.

With support from AusAID, the Commonwealth Ombudsman is assisting Ombudsman offices in neighbouring countries through training, practical assistance and peer support. The broader objective is to promote good governance, supported by democratic and accountable governmental institutions.
