Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Welcome to the HIV/AIDS section. The HIV pandemic in the Asia-Pacific region displays unique characteristics and challenges. Resources provided here have been selected by experienced HIV practitioners to assist others working on HIV issues in the region. This information will be of use to policy makers, government employees, educators, community-based organisations, donors, public health students and practitioners, in-country development workers, and Australian HIV professionals (among others).

Resources include: Introductions to key topics and debates; relevant reference sources and organisations; approaches to fostering leadership and building capacity; best practice policy development processes; practical guides and considerations for programming and implementation; country-level, regional and global case studies and initiatives; training guides on prevention; and background papers on scaling up treatment and care.
