Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Gender equality and audit

  • Date: 9 - 16 July, 2008
  • Venue: Sydney, Melbourne, Australia
  • The July 2-day workshops in Sydney and Melbourne will provide a forum to take stock of progress and successes on gender equality within the Australian NGO community and to take steps to 'do more' in response to the global call.

    This workshop will present some of these recent trends and introduce a tool called the Gender Audit Organisational Self-Assessment and Action Planning Process. The Gender Audit was developed by ACFID's counterpart in the US, InterAction, and has been implemented by both international NGOs and local NGOs in developing countries to strengthen their efforts toward gender equality.

Engendering Leadership Conference: through research & practice

  • Date: 22 - 24 July, 2008
  • Venue: University of Western Australia
  • The overall aim of this international conference is to generate new thinking about gender and leadership by providing a creative forum for interaction between leadership scholars, researchers, practitioners and policy makers from across the world.

    The conference format will include a mix of theoretical presentations, case studies, round table discussions, panels and other innovative formats.

IWDA - Winter warmers

  • The Winter Warmers campaign aims to help IWDA in Asia and the Pacific by raising awareness of, and contributing funds to, our many programs and partner organisations.

    With the support of IWDA, you and your friends can stay in one cold night and raise awareness and funds for the work of IWDA's project partners in Asia and the Pacific. By hosting a Winter Warmers event - be it a movie night, trivia night, or a luncheon - you can make a difference to the lives of many women in Asia and the Pacific.
