Development Effectiveness
Paris declaration on aid effectiveness (pdf 93kb)
The "Paris Declaration On Aid Effectiveness: Ownership, Harmonisation, Alignment, Results And Mutual Accountability", is a background document for the April 2005 Development Committee meeting. It was adopted by about 90 countries and 27 development institutions attending the high level forum held in Paris, February 28-March 2, 2005.
The Declaration contains some 50 commitments to improve the quality of aid, which will be monitored by 12 quantitative indicators. Participants agreed to set targets for 2010 for each of the indicators, involving action by donors and partner countries, which can help to track and encourage progress in implementing the commitments.
