The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Chris Piper is an independent consultant in the areas of Disaster Risk Management (DRM), Training/Facilitation, Human Resource Management (HRM). His DRM experience includes overseas field assignments at pre-disaster, response and post-disaster stages of intervention. In addition to being a part time lecturer at Deakin University, Chris delivers DRM workshops and cross-cultural training. His HRM expertise includes studies on humanitarian situations/staff for AusAID, UNICEF and People in Aid. He is also the founder and editor of the monthly Australian Aid Resource & Training Guide (AARTG).
