Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Solomon Islands - peace and conflict development analysis (pdf - 939kb)

The report pays particular attention to development dimensions, and formulates guidelines and recommendations for post-conflict peace building and reconciliation.

It draws on consultations with government, donors, private sector, NGOs and community representatives, and explores five themes identified as consistently affecting peace, conflict and development in the Solomon Islands, including: land, traditional vs non-traditional authority structures, access to government services, public resources and information, economic opportunities, and law and justice.
