Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The term microfinance encompasses the delivery of a range of financial services to poor families and entrepreneurs, which includes small loans in the form of microcredit.

This section focuses on the delivery of microfinance and microcredit services to help recipients engage in productive, income generating activities.  It includes resources addressing lending mechanisms, setting appropriate interest rates, identifying and utilitising appropriate MIS and ICT systems, best practice approaches and toolkits.  It also provides links to microfinance institutions and outlines available training resources for microfinance practitioners.
