Business Development
Business development services for women's business growth (pdf 979kb)
This study focuses on lessons learned in the provision of business development services to help business growth for women-owned enterprises. The study consists of two parts:
- A literature review on the international experience and lessons in providing business development services for women entrepreneurs
- Specific lessons from two local business development service initiatives for women in Bangladesh and South Africa
Supporting women microentrepreneurs is important not just to the well being of poor households, but also for their contributions to the local and national economies through the products and services they provide. Women entrepreneurs also gain confidence, decision-making experience, and a greater sense of control over their lives through their businesses.
