This article examines the role of microfinance in empowering women through increased access to financial services, increased participation in decision making, self-esteem and confidence that impact whole communities.
Microfinance is often targeted specifically at individual women or groups of women. This approach has proven to have far-reaching benefits for improving the lives of not only those women but also their families and communities.
