Microfinance Institutions and Supporting Organisations
Australian Business Volunteers
Australian Business Volunteers (ABV) is a not-for-profit, non-Government organisation. ABV was jointly founded in 1981 by the then Australian Confederation of Trade and Industry and the Australian Government. ABV is largely funded by AusAID.
ABV aims to help reduce poverty and create sustainable development by providing Australian expert volunteers who, through sharing their skills and experience, assist businesses and organisations in developing countries to grow and thrive.
ABV's clients include microenterprises, small and medium sized businesses, community groups, NGOs, and government agencies in developing countries who draw on ABV's volunteers for practical advice and training.
Volunteers include tradespeople, professionals and business people, both men and women, who draw upon many years of experience in their fields. Countries where ABV operates include Cambodia, Timor Leste, Fiji, Indonesia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
