Outreach (Rural vs. Urban)
Maximising the outreach of microenterprise finance (pdf 44kb)
This study looks at developments in microenterprise finance from two perspectives including, outreach and financial sustainability, in order to capture the key lessons of successful programs.
Outreach refers to the central purpose of microenterprise finance, which is to provide access to quality financial services to large numbers of poor people, including the very poor and women. Financial sustainability embodies the institutional capacity to become independent of donor or government subsidies.
