Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Microfinance expansion project - Vietnam

This article provides information on the Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (CEP), a microfinance initiative supported by AusAID in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. CEP aims to support poor individuals and families through the provision of credit to invest in income generating activities.

Assistance through the AusAID funded Microfinance Expansion Project has provided technical assistance, capacity building and improved management systems to CEP, allowing it to open additional numbers of branches and improve the outreach of its services to poor communities around the city.
