Results Australia
RESULTS Australia: RESULTS Australia is part of an international grassroots advocacy network whose aim is to generate the will to end poverty. This is achieved through education of members on poverty-alleviation issues, who in turn communicate with their parliamentarians and other policy makers to take specific action on their behalf. Members also generate media items to raise public awareness of poverty issues and their solutions.
Particular issues RESULTS focuses on are:
- Quantitative targets for our overseas aid including our commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.
- Effective poverty reduction strategies within the overseas aid program including increasing resources for microfinance and basic social services.
- International financial institutions poverty reduction strategies (including microfinance).
RESULTS Australia enables individuals to discover how, through advocacy, they can meaningfully contribute to ending hunger and poverty.
