Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Opportunity International is a global leader in providing microfinance and micro enterprise development (MED) services to the poor in 27 developing countries. Microfinance includes the provision of collateral-free loans, savings, insurance and remittances for the poor. MED additionally incorporates the provision of training, mentoring and support in establishing and growing small businesses which lift clients, their families and their communities out of chronic poverty. This working solution to poverty is all about dignity, empowerment, sustainability and hope.

Opportunity International is committed to providing opportunities for people in poverty to transform their lives, motivated by the call to serve the poor without regard to race, ethnicity or religious affiliation and guided by four core values: respect, commitment to the poor, integrity and stewardship.
