Deakin has had hundreds of staff from various UN agencies, government aid organizations and NGOs around the world undertaking the International and Community Development courses with great success. Study has assisted them with a more nuanced and contextualised understanding of the development process, as well as equipping them with a range of critical skills necessary for a development professional.The International and Community Development suite of postgraduate courses will equip a range of professionals who work within:

Deakin's International and Community Development courses are structured around a range of skills-based and knowledge-generation units that address technical and social issues, policy development, project management and resource-use analysis.
Learn from lecturers with substantial field experience
Deakin's International Development staff include a specialized team of leading practitioners and researchers, consulting in and writing on fields such as post-tsunami reconstruction, micro-finance, agricultural development, gender, human rights and peace processes, wider economic issues and good governance/political development.
Flexibility to study while you work
The program is delivered off-campus, either full-time or part-time, allowing you to fit studies in with workplace and personal commitments.
Advanced Standing
You may be given advanced standing or credit towards your degree for the qualifications and experience you already possess. Our flexible policy also recognises prior learning and experience and allows for special entry into the Graduate Certificate program.
