TorqAid

OIA TorqAid was established in 1992 in Torquay, Victoria, as an overseas aid consultancy and now focuses in three main areas namely, humanitarian consultancies training, public awareness and education.

Humanitarian consultancies are carried out for NGOs, AusAID, UN agencies and other stakeholders.  They mainly focus on risk reduction, field assessments/evaluations and desk-top appraisals.  Training is centred around the two main TorqAid workshops namely, Participatory Project Management (PPM) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM), which are offered both in Australia and overseas.  Public awareness is expressed through the monthly Australian Aid Resource & Training Guide (AARTG) produced by Torqaid.
