Monitoring & Evaluation Methodologies
Most significant change technique - a guide to its use (pdf 1.27mb)
The Most Significant Change (MSC) technique is a form of participatory monitoring and evaluation. This publication aims to help practitioners use the technique to help monitor and evaluate their social change programs and projects, or to learn more about how it can be used.
MSC involves the collection of significant change stories emanating from the field level, and the systematic selection of the most significant of these. These selected stories are then discussed and critically reflected on to help determine the impact of the development program or activity.
