Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Inclusive security, sustainable peace - a toolkit for advocacy and action

This resource aims to support peace builders and practitioners (particularly women) to effectively promote peace and security.

It outlines the components of peace building from conflict prevention to post-conflict reconstruction, and highlights the role that women play in each phase. The toolkit is available for download as individual chapters, which include resources on:

  • Conceptual and institutional frameworks for peace and security
  • Conflict prevention, resolution and reconstruction
  • Security issues, including disarmament, small arms, light weapons and landmines
  • Justice, governance and civil society
  • Protecting vulnerable groups, including refugees, people living with HIV/AIDS, and children
