Prepared for the Pacific Conference on Growth and Development in 2005, this paper looks at the dynamics of broad-based growth and their implications for Papua New Guinea (PNG).It summarises some of the findings in the literature about broad-based growth and its determining factors, and also lessons gained from the recent experiences of international development agencies.
The paper also provides some ideas on the applicability of these lessons and ideas to PNG, and some key areas that may require further attention.
