Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Timor-Leste local development program progress report 2005 (pdf 288kb)

The Timor-Leste Local Development Program aims to assist Timor-Leste with the development of decentralised governance systems for infrastructure & service delivery, as a more effective means of reducing poverty.

This report provides a summary of the activities and impact of the program from between August 2004 and December 2005. Key issues addressed include:

- procedures for effective planning and budgeting
- procedures for delivery of public services and infrastructure
- financial instruments and management for infrastructure and service delivery
- national policies on decentralised governance
