Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Joint forum accountable governance background paper (pdf 143K)

This AusAID background paper was prepared for the 'Joint Forum on Promoting Transparent and Accountable Governance through Overseas Aid Programs' and focusses on the role of the Australian aid program.

It highlights specific examples of Australian support to: Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Cambodia (legal reform projects); Indonesia (Assistance to the Indonesian Audit Board); Papua New Guinea (Pacific Media and Communications Facility and the PNG Media Council's War on Corruption); and Cambodia (Cambodian Criminal Justice Assistance Project).
