Transport infrastructure and poverty reduction: experiences of Bangladesh (pdf 100kb)
This paper explores the linkages between transport infrastructure and poverty reduction in Bangladesh.It provides an overview of the poverty context in Bangladesh, national poverty reduction initiatives by the Government, and the role of infrastructure in contributing to poverty reduction.
The paper also describes evidence from the Southwest Road Development Network Project showing how improved access to road networks led to reduced poverty in the project area.
