This paper examines the impact of transport infrastructure on poverty reduction and economic growth, and finds that more can be done.The paper summarises the main issues surrounding pro-poor transport infrastructure, including macro and micro-economic linkages, distribution of benefits, financing and trade.
It suggests a range of policy, regulatory, and institutional measures that could help strengthen the impact of transport infrastructure on poverty reduction.
