Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Gender and energy

These training packages are designed to support training of development practitioners to increase their capacity to bring gender aspects of energy into the project cycle.

There are two main packages covering concepts in gender and energy, and gender tools for energy projects.

- Why is gender important in energy planning and how can energy help women?
- Mainstreaming versus the 'women-only' approach
- Gender analytic tools
- A framework for gender analytic tools
- Participatory data gathering methods
- Developing action plans
