Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Strengthening operational aspects of APEC energy micro-economic reform (pdf 476kb)

This report provides a comprehensive list of guidelines on regulatory and pricing issues in the energy sector. It offers a list of operational principles pertaining to: policy objectives, reform management, industry structure, legal and regulatory framework, wholesale market mechanisms, transmission and distribution, retail tariffs and contestability, and privatisation.

In addition, the document presents country case studies, which include models for structural and regulatory reform across the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation economies.
