Contracting options for procurement, management and maintenance of assets: choices and trends (pdf 81kb)
This paper considers trends in both the public and private sector in Australia in respect to contractual models. It argues that the model for contracting can establish an effective working structure for a project and that there is room for improvement in contracting practices.There are a range of contracting options available and practiced in industry. This paper provides an overview of some of the key contracting models including an analysis of traditional models and methods for assessing risk.
Partnership and relationship models for contracting are also examined alongside strategic alliances as new methods for approaching contracting.
