Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Assai Pty Ltd

Assai is a design and project management firm, specialising in built environments for international development cooperation, Aboriginal Australia, and operational workplaces. It works throughout the Asia- Pacific region.

Assaí's culture-driven approach combines the mobilisation of local knowledge and resources with international good practice and formal systems, to deliver value for money for funders, and responsiveness and appropriateness for the beneficiaries and end-users.

Assai uses methodologies such as demand driven development, community based contracting, user design and participatory planning, drawn from community development disciplines. It combines these with methodologies from the engineering disciplines, such as formal value management, project management, cost control, and lean production.
