Guidelines for hosting and undertaking international development work and study placements
The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) has designed these guidelines to improve the effectiveness of contributions made to overseas work projects and to the work and study placements of visiting public sector staff in Australia. The IPAA has a long commitment to supporting the exchange of information and learning between public sector organisations and individuals around the globe.
These guidelines are intended as an overview for individuals and organisations involved either in hosting public sector visitors or participating in work placements in developing countries.
They covers issues that placement designers and managers will need to consider in planning, implementing and reviewing work placements involving developing country participants.
