Asian Development Bank
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international development finance institution headquartered in Manila, whose mission is to help its developing member countries reduce poverty and improve the quality of life of their people.
The ADB works with governments, the private sector, non-government organisations, development agencies, community-based organisation and foundations. Their main instruments comprise loans, technical assistance, grants, advice and knowledge.
In 2008, the ADB provided US$10.5 billion in loans; US$811.4 million in grants; and US$274.5 million in technical assistance to developing countries.
