A policy maker's guide to international achievement studies (pdf 1.68mb)
International achievement studies focus on the collection and analysis of cross-national information. This paper is intended as a guide for policy-maker's as they undertake cross-national research into education.The studies aim to:
- provide policy makers and educational practitioners with information about their education system in relation to other systems
- offer reasons for observed differences in the achievements of students from different educational systems
The paper provides examples on statistical and data collection, the reporting methods used and outlines the benefits of conducting international achievement studies.
