Regional seminar on higher education in southeast Asian countries (pdf 1.53mb)

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (RIHED) realises the need to create a forum to disseminate and share information as well as facilitate the continuing dialog on this important sector.

These papers discuss changes including structural changes at the ministerial level but also changes in the government financing system, changes in the status of the government university which effects the overall university personnel system, emerging trends in e-learning and the impacts of ICT on higher education system. The increasing number of private and non-government universities are also evidenced in most countries in the region.
