Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

HIV/AIDS prevention among injecting users: workshop manual (pdf 1.04mb)

The purpose of this workshop manual is to provide a wide audience with a systematic approach to such advocacy, which could be replicated and adapted to various cultural, economic and political circumstances.

The manual is organised into four sections:

1. general principles of advocacy for HIV/AIDS prevention and care for IDUs
2. step-by-step process of establishing advocacy groups with specific goals, situation analysis, strategy development, including analysis of stakeholder and advocacy audiences and implementation of action
3. descriptions of a wide range of tools and methods for achieving advocacy goals
4. frequently used arguments related to HIV/AIDS prevention among IDUs and useful resources
