The impact of HIV/AIDS on children and young people (pdf 562kb)

This paper examines the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on young people (0-18 yrs) and on education in the Asia-Pacific region.  Drawing on several research studies from the region, this paper looks particularly at issues relating to:

- Access to education by children affected by the epidemic
- Demand and supply of education services
- Quality of education and planning
- Management issues for education planners and service providers

The paper concludes by identifying further gaps in knowledge on the relationship between HIV/AIDS and the education sector.
