Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Human rights and business learning tool

This learning module has been prepared by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact Office and the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC).

It is designed to help stakeholders involved in the UN Global Compact to understand the importance of implementing strong human rights policies.

This learning modules comprises three modules covering:
- Module 1 - key components of internationally accepted human rights standards and principles
- Module 2 -  the concept of sphere of influence
- Module 3 - complicity in human rights abuses

The learning module incorporates the strategies of several UN offices to promote and encourage businesses to develop holistic and practical approaches to human rights within the workplace.
