Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Papua New Guinea: Australia Development Cooperation Strategy 2006-2010 (pdf 747kb)

This country strategy describes AusAID's approach to assisting Papua New Guinea reduce poverty and promote sustainable development for 2006-2010. The strategy supports the PNG Government's efforts to implement its Medium Term Development Strategy and Medium Term Fiscal Strategy.

The strategy reflects a genuine partnership between Papua New Guinea and Australia, a partnership driven by Papua New Guinea ownership and leadership. The strategy has a strong emphasis on sustainability and capacity building, and focuses on four core areas:

- improved governance and nation building
- economic growth and increased productivity
- improved service delivery
- tackling HIV/AIDS
