Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Livelihood systems,vulnerable groups & adaptation to climate change (pdf 628kb)

This study comprises of a livelihood systems assessment, vulnerable groups profiling and an analysis of livelihood adaptation practices and technologies in drought-prone areas of Northwestern Bangladesh.
 
The study examines three basic questions:
 
- Where does a society stand with respect to vulnerability to climate risks
- What factors determine its current vulnerability
- How successful are efforts to adapt to current and possible future climate risks
