These guidelines provide advice on incorporating biodiversity considerations into environmental impact assessments and strategic environmental assessments.It aims to ensure that biodiversity and other environmental considerations are adequately considered in developmental actions, policies or strategies that may affect Ramsar sites and other wetlands.
The guide is organised into three sections:
- Introduction to impact assessment and the Ramsar Convention
- Guidelines for incorporating biodiversity related issues into environmental impact assessment legislation and/or processes and in strategic environmental assessment
