Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Guidelines for incorporating biodiversity into environmental impact assessment (pdf 1.84mb)

These guidelines provide advice on incorporating biodiversity considerations into environmental impact assessments and strategic environmental assessments.
 
It aims to ensure that biodiversity and other environmental considerations are adequately considered in developmental actions, policies or strategies that may affect Ramsar sites and other wetlands.
 
The guide is organised into three sections:
 
- Introduction to impact assessment and the Ramsar Convention
- Guidelines for incorporating biodiversity related issues into environmental impact assessment legislation and/or processes and in strategic environmental assessment
- Strategic environmental assessments
