Natural wealth: A study for linking poverty reduction with forest conservation in Laos (pdf 376kb)
This IUCN study explores the linkages between forest conservation and poverty reduction in Laos.The study includes:
- A desk study on the opportunities and challenges to linking poverty reduction with forest conservation in Laos to help meet national development goals
- A case study describing the impacts of non-timber forest products (NTFP) conservation activities on poverty reduction and sustainable livelihoods
The lessons learned from the study are aimed at improving the effectiveness of conservation efforts by better recognising and integrating local livelihood issues.
