Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Guide to city development strategies: improving urban performance

This document, developed by the Cities Alliance, provides guidance on the development of city development strategies in developing countries, to improve the performance and sustainability of urban environments.
 
The guide is organised around five key themes including livelihoods, environmental sustainability, spatial form and its infrastructure, financial resources, and governance. It also takes users through 8 key steps in the process involved in developing a city development strategy.
 
The guide is available for download as individual chapters, or as an entire document.
