Addressing the problem of cross-border child trafficking (pdf 3.2mb)
This paper highlights the inadequacies of the legal frameworks in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia in addressing cross-border child trafficking. It is based on a comprehensive review of the relevant laws in those countries. It also involves national consultations and a regional consultation with government officials and representatives of employers' and workers' organisations to review the relevant contexts in their respective countries. The paper includes recommendations for each country and a variety of case studies, for example on exploitation for commercial sex workers.
The paper is downloadable in its entirety from this page.
